Swansea the Waterfront City
Swansea is set round a 5 mile long sandy bay. A promenade frequented by walkers, roller bladers, cyclists, and joggers links the city to Mumbles. In addition a thriving Maritime Quarter provides a haven for yachts and pleasure craft. Swansea is also home to the National Waterfront Museum.
If your renting property in Swansea you will be able to enjoy everything this exciting, vibrant city has to offer. Swansea has an excellent beach right on its doorstep. The shopping centre has a tempting mix of high street names, local boutiques,and craft shops, and Swansea Market is the largest indoor market in Wales. It will entice you with local delicacies such as cockles and laverbread, and fresh Gower fruit and veg.
Alternatively spend time down in Swansea's Waterfront. Visit the Museums, including the new National Maritime Museum, and the Dylan Thomas Centre, then sit and relax and watch the yachts and pleasure craft motoring in and out of Swansea Marina. Enjoy a drink at one of the marina cafes or bars.
In the evening Swansea comes to life. Visit Swansea's Cafe quarter with its numerous restaurants and bars, then go on to one of the many night clubs that are all within walking distance in the city centre.
The city of Swansea is in fact unique, as the beach, marina, shopping centre, restaurants, bars, nightclubs, theatre, cinemas, and all sites of interest are all within easy access of each other.
Head for Mumbles
This bright and breezy seaside village nestles below Mumbles Head. Colourful yachts tack along the coastline and white washed fishermens cottages wind along the narrow lanes which lead you back to the sea.
A resort popular since the Victorian era, mumbles is an appetising mix of experiences jostling for your attention at the edge of the bay. On a green hill top, the Norman Keep of Oystermouth Castle dominates, whilst below, an eclectic selection of interesting shops, boutiques, galleries and potteries attract passers-by with high quality merchandise and unique arts and crafts. Mumbles has a well earned reputation for fine dining, whilstfamily friendly restaurants and ice cream parlours offer uninterrupted views of the Bay.
Golden Gower
In 1956 Gower was the very first place in the UK to be designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, ensuring its protection and conservation for succeeding generations to enjoy and admire.
Come and share in the awe inspiring beauty that has captivated generations of visitors. There is so much to explore; take a ramble to the top of Rhossili Downs and be rewarded by unrivalled views of the Bay, Worms Head, and out across the Atlantic. From Cefn Bryn you can see Gower spread out before you, with Devon across the Channel and the Carmarthenshire coastline beyond the Estuary.
